John Adams worked at the Bank of England as a Banking Supervisor and a Country Manager covering China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India.
He worked on Banking Supervisory Policy, G10 and Basle I, EU liquidity measurement and repayment of Chinese defaulted bonds. He was subsequently Adviser for China at West Merchant Bank, a London investment bank, specialising in power sector financing.
He was also Technical Director of the British Council’s China Financial Sector Training Programme, which placed Chinese managers from the banking, insurance and securities sectors for work experience in London.
His business sector involvement has included Finance, Energy, Information Systems and High Technology. He has held senior management positions at Director and Vice President level in the UK and the United States with technical, commercial and financial responsibilities.
